after air in Black August
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, artists Jodie Lyn-Kee-Chow and Asia Stewart presented free performances in Joyce Kilmer Park—located just one block south of The Bronx Museum on Grand Concourse.
Titled Black August: The Political Potential of Performance, this presentation drew on traditions of Black feminist performance art and social practice with Stewart’s and Lyn-Kee-Chow’s performances related to Black liberation, joy, and resistance. Following their performances, the artists engaged in a conversation moderated by Michael Paul Britto.
